Kitchener Opens Applications for Over 200 Summer Jobs for Students
The city of Kitchener is set to offer over 200 temporary summer job positions for students, with applications opening on January 17, 2024. These roles encompass a variety of opportunities, including working at summer camps, supporting youth programs, lifeguarding, customer service, and assisting with parks and events. Both full-time and part-time positions will be available, catering to a wide range of student availability.
To facilitate the application process, the city will host a Youth Hiring Expo on the same day at the Forest Hill Community Centre. This event will provide prospective applicants the chance to engage directly with current city staff. They can inquire about the specific roles offered and gain insights into the application process.
Kitchener’s initiative aims to provide valuable work experience to young individuals while also enhancing community services during the busy summer months. The city encourages all interested students to attend the expo and consider applying for these positions.
As summer approaches, these job opportunities not only help students earn income but also contribute to their personal and professional development. The roles available are designed to foster skills in teamwork, leadership, and customer service, making them an excellent choice for students seeking to enhance their resumes.
Applications for these positions will be accepted on a rolling basis, and interested candidates are advised to prepare their resumes and come ready to discuss their interests and qualifications during the expo. This initiative underscores Kitchener’s commitment to engaging youth in meaningful work experiences while supporting the community’s diverse service needs.
