The final exams for the fall semester at Brandon University conclude today, marking the end of a busy academic term. The university will begin its holiday break on December 22, 2025, and will reopen on January 5, 2026, for winter orientation. Most classes are scheduled to commence on January 6, 2026, with some Faculty of Education classes starting a day earlier.

During the holiday season, the Healthy Living Centre will remain operational, offering limited services except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. Students and staff can visit HealthyLivingCentre.ca for specific hours and details regarding the centre’s availability over the break.

The Bobcat Athletics teams will also take a break during the holidays, with competitive play in the Canada West league set to resume in January. The basketball teams will be the first to return to action, hosting home games against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen on January 8 and January 9 at the Healthy Living Centre.

Assiniboine College Hosts Events and Holiday Closure

Meanwhile, Assiniboine College is gearing up for its own activities as it announces the ticket sales for the Ag Partnership Breakfast. This event will take place on January 18, 2026, during Manitoba Ag Days, and serves to support financial awards for students enrolled in agricultural-based programs. Interested attendees can find more information and purchase tickets at assiniboine.net/events.

Alumni of Assiniboine College are encouraged to reconnect at the Ag Mixer on January 21, 2026. While registration is not mandatory, it is recommended that alumni email [email protected] to confirm attendance.

The college will be closed from December 24 at noon until January 2, 2026, inclusively. Both institutions wish their communities a happy holiday season and look forward to welcoming students back in the new year.
