Remembering Don J. Holley: A Life Dedicated to Music and Teaching
Don J. Holley, born on July 31, 1967, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, surrounded by his family. His journey came to an end after a brave battle, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a deep passion for music.
Don is remembered as a devoted husband to his wife, Joan Holley, and as a beloved son and brother. His family includes his parents, Donald and Carole Holley, his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Toni Holley, his niece, Lauren Holley, and his sister and brother-in-law, Kerri Holley and Jean-Guy Francoeur. He leaves behind a wide circle of friends, colleagues, and students who were deeply touched by his warmth and genuine spirit.
A Passion for Music and Teaching
Music was not just a hobby for Don; it was his true passion. Throughout his life, he found joy and comfort in music, which became a medium through which he expressed himself. Those closest to him recall how intertwined music was with his identity, often sharing his love of the art with others.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Don dedicated himself to teaching, taking great pride in the success of his many students. His commitment to education and mentorship left a lasting impact on those he guided. The heartfelt gratitude expressed by his family extends to the healthcare professionals at Sault Area Hospital, who provided compassionate care during his final days.
Legacy and Remembrance
Don is now at peace, embraced by the love of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. A celebration of his life is scheduled for the spring, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather and honor his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the charity of your choice, reflecting Don’s spirit of giving and support for others.
