Willowbrook Mall Fundraisers Aim to Raise $25,000 for Local Charities
The Willowbrook Shopping Centre in Langley is launching two significant fundraising initiatives this holiday season, aiming to raise a total of $25,000 for local charities. The campaign includes the return of the Charity Gift Wrap Centre, operated by volunteers from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley, and the Golden Gift Chocolate Bars program, which benefits the Storehouse Community Hub Society.
From now until December 24, 2023, shoppers can participate in the Charity Gift Wrap Centre, where they can have their gifts wrapped for as little as $2 per package. All proceeds from this service go directly to funding mentorship programs for local youth provided by Big Brothers Big Sisters. The wrapping service adds a festive touch to the holiday shopping experience, enhancing community spirit through volunteer efforts.
In addition to the wrapping service, the Golden Gift Chocolate Bars initiative allows shoppers to purchase chocolate bars for $10 each at the concierge desk located on the southeast side of the centre. The entirety of the proceeds supports the Storehouse Community Hub Society, which has been serving the community since its re-establishment in 2025, previously operating as Cloverdale Community Kitchen.
Nicole Lotz, the marketing director of Willowbrook, expressed pride in partnering with these local organizations. “This year’s holiday programs are all about spreading joy with purpose,” she stated. “Every Golden Gift Chocolate Bar purchased, or present wrapped helps lift up local families and youth during a time of year when community care can make a real difference.”
The Storehouse Community Hub Society provides essential services, including food banks, community kitchens, mobile meals, and outreach programs to residents across Cloverdale, Langley, White Rock, North Delta, and other areas of Surrey.
The chocolate bars serve not only as a delightful treat but also come with an exciting twist. Each bar offers a one-in-six chance to win a Willowbrook gift card, with one grand prize of a $1,000 shopping spree.
These initiatives reflect a strong commitment to community support and engagement during the holiday season, showcasing how local businesses and charities can work together to make a meaningful impact. Shoppers are encouraged to take part in these efforts, ensuring that the spirit of giving thrives in their local communities.
