RCMP Arrest Teen in Fatal Hit-and-Run Investigation in La Loche
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have arrested a teenager following a fatal hit-and-run incident in La Loche, Saskatchewan, that occurred on October 31, 2023. A 58-year-old pedestrian, also from La Loche, was struck while walking on Washington Avenue. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the victim to the local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The investigation quickly led to the arrest of a teenage boy, who has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing death. Given the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the suspect cannot be disclosed.
