mimik Launches Abu Dhabi Venture to Advance Edge AI Innovation
mimik, a global leader in device-first Continuum AI and agentic software, has launched a new venture in Abu Dhabi aimed at transforming the region’s artificial intelligence landscape. The company signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish mimik UAE in collaboration with local partners Next71 Ltd and ASK Holding LLC. This initiative was unveiled during Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week and aligns with the UAE’s objective to emerge as a global leader in AI and sovereign technology.
The formation of mimik UAE represents a significant commitment from the partners to support the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC). This collaboration aims to enhance the nation’s digital capabilities and foster an innovative ecosystem. “Together with mimik, we are reimagining what’s possible—building a smart, sustainable economy where intelligence exists everywhere, for everyone,” stated Sara Dhafer Alahbabi, Director of SPV and Portfolio Relations at Next71.
In its effort to decentralize AI, mimik UAE is positioned to boost the UAE’s commitment to create a diversified, knowledge-based economy that prioritizes sustainability and innovation. The partnership signifies a shift away from traditional cloud computing, focusing instead on mimik’s technology that enables distributed intelligence across devices, vehicles, and infrastructure. This approach is expected to transform cities into interconnected systems that adapt in real-time to the needs of their inhabitants.
ASK Holding emphasized its dedication to building sovereign intelligence. “We’re not chasing another cloud trend—we’re building sovereign intelligence where life happens on our roads, in our ports, across our factories, and in every small business,” the company stated. “Together with mimik and Next71, we are moving the UAE from cloud-first to citizen-first AI—private, resilient, and real-time.”
The shift towards an agentic economy indicates a transition from a cloud-dominant, application-based Software as a Service (SaaS) model to an ecosystem defined by billions of intelligent agents. This new economy, valued in the trillions, necessitates a different kind of software infrastructure—one that emphasizes distribution, autonomy, and context.
“We are entering the age of the agentic economy,” said Fay Arjomandi, Founder and CEO of mimik. She highlighted that mimik provides a robust technological framework that supports sovereignty and execution while promoting sustainability and cost savings. The mimik platform is designed to offer operational freedom and control, enabling businesses to scale their intelligence efficiently.
The Device-First Continuum AI approach represents an evolution in technology. It emphasizes local and offline capabilities while maintaining seamless connectivity. This allows devices—whether robots, sensors, or machines—to become self-aware and contextually intelligent. They will be able to process data and interact at the edge of networks, forming a decentralized intelligence network that adapts dynamically.
mimik UAE is poised to become a vital component in Abu Dhabi’s future as a hub for AI innovation. It aims to cultivate advanced talent and enhance regional data sovereignty. The partnership envisions a city where intelligence is not confined to centralized data centers but instead forms a living mesh of interconnected systems that evolve alongside society.
In summary, the establishment of mimik UAE signals a bold step toward creating a sustainable, intelligent economy in the UAE. With its focus on distributed intelligence and local empowerment, this venture is set to redefine the landscape of artificial intelligence in the region.
