Huawei Unveils Mate 80 Series Launch Date for November 25, 2025
Huawei has announced the launch date for its highly anticipated Mate 80 series, confirming that the event will take place on November 25, 2025. This new lineup is set to succeed the Mate 70 series and will feature four distinct models, according to the latest information from the company.
The four models expected to debut are the base Mate 80, the Mate 80 Pro, the Mate 80 Pro Max, and the premium Mate 80 RS ULTIMATE DESIGN. While precise specifications are yet to be disclosed, it has been reported that all models will be powered by the Kirin 9030 chipset, with variations in RAM, storage, and camera configurations.
Specifications and Features of the Mate 80 Series
The base model, Mate 80, will reportedly start with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and can be upgraded to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The Pro model is expected to have a starting configuration of 16GB of RAM and can support up to 1TB of storage. Both the Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro will offer 66W wired charging.
The Mate 80 Pro Max is expected to share similar specifications with the Pro model, while the Mate 80 RS ULTIMATE DESIGN will stand out with a starting configuration of 20GB of RAM and the same storage capacity of up to 1TB. In terms of charging capabilities, the RS model is rumored to support 100W wired charging.
Design-wise, the Mate 80, Pro, and Pro Max will feature a similar aesthetic with flat edges and a prominent circular camera cutout. Additionally, there appears to be another ring beneath the camera, possibly for design purposes or to accommodate Qi2 support. In contrast, the Mate 80 RS ULTIMATE DESIGN will adopt a sharper, more angular design with an octagonal camera cutout and is expected to include a quad-camera setup featuring dual periscope telephoto lenses.
Operating System and Future Expectations
While details remain sparse, it is likely that the entire Mate 80 lineup will operate on Huawei’s latest software, HarmonyOS NEXT. This new version marks a significant shift for the company, as it eliminates any remaining elements of Android. As a result, users may face challenges accessing the Google Play Store; however, there are potential workarounds for those reliant on specific Android applications.
As the launch date approaches, Huawei enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting further announcements regarding the Mate 80 series. The combination of advanced specifications and innovative design promises to keep Huawei at the forefront of the smartphone market.
