2026 Toyota GR Corolla Launches with Enhanced Features and Price Increase
The 2026 Toyota GR Corolla is set to arrive at dealerships across Canada, starting at a price of $53,703 and reaching a maximum of $63,245 for higher trims. This latest version maintains its robust output of 300 horsepower from a compact 1.6L three-cylinder engine while introducing several upgraded standard features that enhance the driving experience.
For this model year, the entry-level Core trim will cost approximately $2,200 more than its predecessor. Alongside the price increase, Toyota has added useful amenities such as a wireless charging dock for electronic devices, heated front-row seats with sport suede upholstery, and dual-zone air conditioning. These enhancements are expected to make the GR Corolla an even more appealing option for road trips.
Key Features and Trim Options
A significant aesthetic change for the 2026 model is the introduction of a muscular hood design across all trims, giving even the base model a sportier appearance. This change addresses past criticisms, as the previous model’s plain bonnet was a clear indicator of its entry-level status.
The Premium trim, equipped with a manual transmission, now retails for $61,025, reflecting an increase of around $1,500 compared to last year. This version features 18-inch matte black alloy wheels, a carbon-fibre roof, an eight-speaker JBL audio system, a heads-up display, sub-radiator, and parking sensors at both the front and rear. Opting for an automatic transmission on this trim adds an additional $2,000 to the overall cost.
The GR Corolla’s rally-inspired GR-Four all-wheel-drive system remains a standout feature, allowing drivers to adjust power distribution between the front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials with ease. This system enhances the car’s performance, ensuring an engaging driving experience whether on the track or the road.
As the 2026 Toyota GR Corolla prepares to make its debut, it combines sporty performance with enhanced comfort and technology, catering to both enthusiasts and everyday drivers alike. The upgrades reflect Toyota’s commitment to delivering a vehicle that not only performs well but also meets the demands of modern drivers.
