Streator Library Unveils Exciting Week of Free Programs
The Streator Public Library is set to host an engaging week of programs from December 8 to December 13, 2023. The library aims to provide a diverse range of activities designed for various age groups, ensuring that there is something for everyone in the community. Featured events include a scavenger hunt and a Lego Club for children, with parental supervision required for Lego activities.
Schedule of Events
The week kicks off on Monday with “Make It: TikTok,” a session for teens from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. This program will focus on teaching safe video creation techniques to aspiring young creators. On Tuesday, adults can join the Library Book Club from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. to discuss their latest reads. Later that day, “Afternoon Watercolor” invites participants aged 10 and up to explore their creativity from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., followed by “Storytime: Holidays Around the World” for young children from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday offers a mix of fun and mystery, featuring “Game Time” for teens from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. and a “Murder Mystery Meetup” for both teens and adults from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m..
On Thursday, the library will host the “Mother Goose Club” for toddlers from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m., introducing them to nursery rhymes and interactive storytelling. In the afternoon, “Snap Circuits” will take place for ages 8 and up from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., followed by an evening session of acrylic painting for children from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Friday will feature “Paw Patrol Playtime” for children from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., where stories, coloring, and fun videos will be presented. The week concludes on Saturday with an “iPhone Tech Tutorial” for adults from 11:00 a.m. to noon, followed by a “Dice Bag Sewing” workshop for teens and adults from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
