Rosé and Bruno Mars Rule Apple Music with “APT.” as 2025 Hits Revealed
Apple Music unveiled its 2025 year-end charts on December 5, revealing that the chart-topping song for the year was “APT.” by Rosé and Bruno Mars. This collaboration, which gained immense popularity since its release in 2024, not only dominated the global song chart but also marked both artists’ first entry as a No. 1 on this prestigious list.
Following “APT.”, the charts showcased another powerful collaboration, “Luther” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA, securing the second spot. Bruno Mars returned to the charts in third place with “Die With a Smile,” a collaboration with Lady Gaga. Kendrick Lamar also made a notable appearance in fourth place with “Not Like Us,” a song that previously claimed the top position in 2024. Rounding out the top five, Billie Eilish captured attention with her song “Birds of a Feather.”
The success of Kendrick Lamar continued to resonate with listeners, as five of his songs made it into the Top 25 of the global chart. Of the 100 songs featured in the list, 36 were by female artists, a slight decrease from the record 39 in 2024. Despite this, seven of the Top 10 songs included contributions from women, more than double compared to the previous year.
Exceptional Year for “APT.”
“Apt.” also achieved remarkable success across several other Apple Music charts. It topped the Shazam Global Radio Spins chart, the Top 100: Global Radio chart—tracking the most played songs on radio stations worldwide—and secured the leading position on Apple’s most-read lyrics charts. Rachel Newman, co-head of Apple Music, praised the song, stating, “The phenomenal global success of Rosé and Bruno Mars’ ‘APT.’ has been a powerful reminder that great songs will always transcend borders.”
In addition to the year-end song charts, Apple Music also introduced “Replay,” its counterpart to Spotify’s Wrapped. This feature allows subscribers to delve into their listening habits over the past year, showcasing highlights such as new artist discoveries, loyalty to certain musicians, and artist comeback trends. Users can also track total listening time, the number of artists they engaged with, and their favorite genres.
Tyler, the Creator Named Artist of the Year
Last month, Apple Music recognized Tyler, the Creator as its Artist of the Year. Following the release of his acclaimed album “Chromakopia,” he amassed an impressive 4.5 billion minutes of listening time between November 2024 and October 2025. Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director, commended Tyler’s creativity and impact, saying, “Tyler continues to prove that anything is possible. His creativity has been incredible all year.”
As the music industry reflects on 2025, the dominance of “APT.” and the recognition of artists like Tyler, the Creator highlight the evolving landscape of popular music, with collaborations and diverse voices shaping the charts. The data shared by Apple Music not only illuminates listener preferences but also underscores the significance of artistic expression in a rapidly changing world.
