On December 2, 2025, Jason Kosec, the President and CEO of Hemlo, joined Tim Babcock, President of the TSX Venture Exchange, to celebrate this important occasion.

The company has recently finalized the acquisition of the Hemlo Gold Mine in Ontario from Barrick Mining Corp. for a total consideration of approximately US$1.1 billion. This mine, situated about 35 kilometers east of Marathon, Ontario, has a notable production history, having yielded around 25 million ounces of gold since operations commenced in 1985.

Strategic Vision and Leadership

Hemlo Mining Corp. aims to position itself as a prominent mid-tier gold producer in Canada. The company intends to focus on maximizing the value of its existing infrastructure while also pursuing growth opportunities through aggressive brownfields exploration.
