CMHA SCB Expands Mental Health Services with New Locations

The Canadian Mental Health Association, Simcoe County Branch (CMHA SCB), is set to enhance its mental health care services by relocating several programs in Barrie and Orillia starting in January 2024. This move underscores the organization’s ongoing commitment to providing accessible and high-quality mental health and addiction services throughout the region.

Sarah Banbury, CEO of CMHA SCB, remarked on the importance of the transition, stating, “Moving to 99 Ferris Lane represents a significant step forward for CMHA SCB.” She emphasized that the new location will improve the organization’s capacity to support clients and foster collaboration among service providers.

In Orillia, the new facility at 94 Colborne Street is expected to significantly enhance local mental health care. Dianne Mowat, Manager of the North Simcoe ACT Team, highlighted the benefits of being closer to clients: “Moving to this new location will make it easier for our clients to access the support they need. It’s about being closer, more connected, and more responsive to our community.”

The relocation plans involve specific changes for the Barrie facilities, which will include moves from 128 and 134 Anne Street South to the new site at 99 Ferris Lane. These updates reflect CMHA SCB’s dedication to evolving its services to meet the needs of the community more effectively.

As the organization prepares for these transitions, it aims to ensure that clients experience minimal disruption while accessing essential mental health resources.
