Regina Public Library Reveals Most Borrowed Books of 2025

The Regina Public Library (RPL) has announced its most borrowed books for 2025, showcasing the reading preferences of its patrons over the past year. This annual tradition highlights the titles that captivated readers, reflecting a diverse range of interests in both fiction and non-fiction.

Top Non-Fiction and Fiction Titles

The standout title for the year was The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins, making it the most requested book at RPL. Other notable non-fiction works included Revenge of the Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, From Here to the Great Unknown by Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough, The House of Mother by Shari Franke, and Cher: The Memoir, Part One.

In the realm of fiction, readers gravitated towards titles such as Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros, Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry, The Grey Wolf by Louise Penny, The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden, and In Too Deep by Lee Child and Andrew Child.

Indigenous and Canadian Literature

The library also reported on popular Indigenous titles, which included The Mighty Red by Louise Erdrich, Reconciling History by Jody Wilson-Raybould and Roshan Danesh, The Buffalo Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones, Children Like Us by Brittany Penner, and Bones of a Giant by Brian Thomas Isaac.

Among Canadian authors, the top selections featured Grey Wolf by Louise Penny, One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune, Revenge of the Tipping Point, The Maid’s Secret by Nita Prose, and The Paris Express by Emma Donoghue.

Teen readers showed enthusiasm for titles led by Suzanne Collins with her latest book, Sunrise on the Reaping. Other popular choices included Fearless by Lauren Roberts, The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han, Nothing Like the Movies by Lynn Painter, and The Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli.

Children’s literature also thrived, with the most borrowed titles being the Dog Man series by Dav Pilkey, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney, the Baby-Sitters Little Sister graphic novel series by Katy Farina, and The Cartoonists Club by Raina Telgemeier and Scott McCloud.

According to a news release from RPL, these year-end lists encompass physical books, audiobooks, and ebooks borrowed from the library. The findings underscore the library’s vital role in fostering a love for reading within the Regina community.
