Young Pianist Inspires at Holiday Events in Cloverdale
A young student from Uplands Montessori Elementary School has made a delightful impression during the festive season with her musical talents and community involvement. Myrea, a second-grade student, recently participated in two significant events that showcased her skills and spirit of giving.
Celebrating Music and Community
On November 23, 2023, Myrea celebrated Canada Music Week by performing “Whale’s Lament” on the piano. The event allowed her to express her passion for music while also feeling a sense of accomplishment. “I felt proud after playing,” she shared.
Following that, on November 30, 2023, Myrea participated in a heartwarming event where she played Christmas carols for elderly residents in her community. This performance was not only a musical treat but also a way to bring joy to those who may feel isolated during the holiday season.
Festive Traditions and Kind Gestures
In addition to her musical contributions, Myrea joined her peers in the Cloverdale Figure Skating Santa Parade, an event that celebrates local talent and the festive spirit. She expressed her enthusiasm for the season, mentioning her plans to leave out cookies and milk for Santa Claus and carrots for his reindeer on Christmas Eve.
Myrea’s efforts reflect the joy of giving back during the holidays and inspire others in her community. Her participation in these events highlights the importance of music and kindness, especially during a time traditionally associated with celebration and sharing.
As Christmas approaches, Myrea hopes to continue spreading joy through her music and thoughtful gestures, reminding everyone of the magic of the holiday season.
