St. Charles School District Announces Preschool and Kindergarten Registration Dates
The St. Charles School District 303 has announced important dates for preschool and kindergarten registration for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. The community preschool lottery registration opens on January 19 and will remain available until February 1. Families will be informed of their child’s acceptance status on February 3.
To participate in the lottery, families must complete the registration form provided by the school district before the deadline. The selected children will be enrolled in a weeklong, half-day preschool program, designed for those who will be at least three years old by September 1, 2026 and are not yet eligible for kindergarten. Sessions will be offered in the morning or afternoon, with a monthly fee of $285 and a non-refundable registration fee of $100 required at the time of enrollment.
For more details about the preschool program, interested parties can visit ec.d303.org or contact the district at 331-228-4834.
Kindergarten Enrollment Process
Kindergarten registration for the 2026-27 academic year will take place from January 26 through February 20. Parents can register their children online at district.d303.org/registration. It is essential to complete the new-student intake form and email it to the designated attendance-area school, which varies based on the family’s residential address. A map of the attendance boundaries is available at district.d303.org/attendance-boundaries.
According to the district’s student enrollment page, guidelines for the registration process include information on required health examinations, vaccinations, and a comprehensive kindergarten FAQ document. State law stipulates that children must be five years old on or before September 1, 2026 to qualify for enrollment. Parents must provide reliable proof of their child’s identity and age—acceptable documents include a birth certificate, passport, or visa. Verification of the parent or guardian’s identity is also mandatory.
For kindergarten, families can choose between all-day and half-day programs. The all-day option incurs a fee, and further details about these costs can be found in the kindergarten FAQ document. It is important to note that preschool and kindergarten fees are subject to approval by the school board and may change before the start of the 2026-27 school year.
