Suspect Arrested Following Vaughan Home Invasion and Crash

One person is in custody following a home invasion that occurred in Vaughan during the early hours of October 26, 2023. According to York Regional Police, the incident took place around 1 a.m. near the intersection of Pine Valley Drive and Major Mackenzie Drive.

During the invasion, several items, including jewelry and cash, were reported stolen from the residence. Notably, one occupant was present at the time of the break-in; fortunately, no injuries were sustained. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, which was later involved in a single-vehicle crash on an on-ramp to Highway 400 at Major Mackenzie Drive.

Police Pursuit and Arrest

Following the crash, the suspect fled the vehicle on foot but was subsequently apprehended by law enforcement officers. The incident prompted a significant police response, with the on-ramp to Highway 400 being closed for several hours to allow for an investigation and necessary repairs.
