‘Heated Rivalry’ Cottage Bookings Sell Out; New Dates Announced
The highly sought-after “Heated Rivalry” cottage has captured the attention of fans, selling out within seconds for May rentals on Airbnb. The Barlochan Cottage in Muskoka, Ontario, featured prominently in the season finale of the popular Canadian hockey romance series on Crave, is set to offer new booking opportunities starting June 1. However, prospective renters should brace for a significant price increase beyond the initial rate of $248 per night, a figure reflecting the jersey numbers of characters Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, played by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie.
The cottage’s appeal surged after its portrayal as a romantic getaway for the main characters, generating viral interest. According to Jayne McCaw, founder of Jayne’s Rentals, the demand for the four weekends in May was overwhelming. An open letter posted on Instagram acknowledged that reservations were secured almost instantaneously, highlighting the extraordinary level of interest.
“Sorry that not everyone was able to book one of the four prized weekends,” the letter stated before being removed. McCaw emphasized that the initial rates were celebratory and limited, designed to attract fans of the series. She noted that starting in June, the pricing would reflect market conditions and the unique experience offered by the property.
While specific rates for the summer have not yet been disclosed, an Airbnb representative indicated that the cottage will be part of its “luxe offerings.” This designation suggests potential pricing that could exceed $1,000 per night, as some high-end listings on the platform reach substantial amounts. For example, a listing for late February 2027 appeared with a staggering price of $12,343, although this was later confirmed as a glitch and removed.
Among those fortunate enough to secure a booking for May is Marjorie Beaugaud, a resident of Boston. Expressing her excitement, Beaugaud shared, “I’m ecstatic. I was at work. I couldn’t scream, but I would have.” She plans to host two friends at the cottage and has extended an open invitation to the cast and creators of the series, eager to recreate scenes from “Heated Rivalry.”
The growing interest in Muskoka rentals is evidenced by a 40 percent increase in searches for properties in the region since late December, according to Airbnb. For those unable to book the Barlochan Cottage, the platform has provided alternative rental options in Ontario’s picturesque cottage country.
As excitement builds for the new bookings in June, fans of “Heated Rivalry” remain hopeful for a chance to experience this unique getaway, albeit at potentially higher prices.
