Streator’s Labor Day Parade Set for August 31 Celebration

The Streator Labor Day Parade will return on August 31, 2024, marking a continuation of a cherished community tradition that was revived last year. Organized by the Streator Chamber of Commerce, the parade is set to commence at noon, with participants lining up starting at 10:30 a.m. on Illinois Street near the railroad depot.
The parade route will proceed west along Main Street to Park Street, where it will turn north, concluding at City Park. All entries are welcomed free of charge, with the exception of political groups. The Chamber is currently accepting entries until August 27, 2024.
“We’re excited to continue the tradition of the Labor Day parade in Streator,” said Derek Barichello, Executive Director of the Streator Chamber of Commerce. “It adds another event for our community to enjoy, along with the Dream Machines car show and Cruise Night on Saturday, as well as the library’s program on labor leader John Williams.”
Community members and organizations interested in participating can register online through a Google form, or they may also contact the Chamber by phone at 815-672-2921, via email at [email protected], or visit the Chamber office located at 320 E. Main St. for in-person registration.
The Labor Day Parade is expected to draw a large crowd, contributing to the festive atmosphere in Streator and promoting community engagement. As the event approaches, local residents and visitors are encouraged to join in the celebrations and support the various activities planned throughout the day. For further details, interested individuals can reach out to the Streator Chamber of Commerce.
