OnePlus 13R Update Enhances Security and User Experience

The OnePlus 13R is receiving a significant update, which includes the August 2025 Android security patch. This update, identified as OxygenOS 15.0.0.850, is currently rolling out in India and will gradually reach users worldwide. While the rollout has begun, it may take some time for all devices to receive the update.
New Features and Improvements
In addition to enhanced security, the update introduces several user-friendly enhancements. One of the most notable changes is the improvement in animations related to opening, repositioning, and resizing floating windows. Users can expect a smoother experience when multitasking.
The update also brings several enhancements to the ‘Private Safe’ feature. Users can now share images and videos stored in Private Safe, customize album covers, and sort their media by time. Furthermore, adding files directly under the ‘Other files’ category within Private Safe is now possible.
Another significant improvement is the flexibility of the Split View feature. Users can now modify an app’s lock status by swiping down on the app within the recent tasks screen, rather than being restricted to fixed ratios. This change is expected to enhance multitasking capabilities further.
Improved Notification Management
To reduce interruptions, notifications received in landscape mode are now displayed in a simplified banner format. Users have the option to swipe down on these simplified banners to open the respective app in a floating window, making it easier to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Although this update is not extensive, it offers a range of improvements that enhance the overall user experience. For those interested in the full list of changes, a complete changelog is available from OnePlus.
As the update continues to roll out, users are encouraged to be patient. OnePlus typically implements updates in stages to ensure a smooth transition for all users.
