Breeze Airways Launches Ten New Routes in Just Four Days

Breeze Airways has swiftly expanded its network, launching ten new routes within a mere four days from September 2 to September 5, 2025. This expansion underscores the airline’s commitment to connecting underserved markets in the United States. Notably, five of these routes had never been previously served by any airline, reflecting Breeze’s strategy to tap into new opportunities.
The airline plans to operate a total of 4,755 round-trip flights throughout September 2025, with daily flight numbers fluctuating between 62 and 209. Tuesdays are expected to be the least busy, as demand typically dips on that day. Compared to the previous year, Breeze’s September operations have surged by nearly 65%. In contrast, Avelo Airlines has reported a marginal decrease in flights, while Spirit Airlines has experienced a significant drop of 24% and is currently under bankruptcy protection, revealing plans to cease operations in 11 US cities.
New Routes and Market Strategy
Breeze Airways differentiates itself from other carriers by focusing on routes that have either never been served or have been unserved. The airline’s fleet primarily consists of 137-seat Airbus A220-300s and 108-seat Embraer E190s, allowing it to operate efficiently in markets with lower passenger volumes. Among the new routes, the Raleigh/Durham to Ogdensburg connection stands out, as it has become Breeze’s second most-served airport.
The newly launched routes include:
– **Raleigh/Durham-Ogdensburg:** Three weekly flights starting September 2, 2025. This route has never been served before.
– **Akron/Canton-Daytona Beach:** Two weekly flights starting September 3, 2025. This route is also a new addition.
– **Westchester-Jacksonville:** Two weekly flights starting September 3, 2025. Previous service was provided by Breeze between 2022 and 2024.
– **Akron/Canton-Jacksonville:** Two weekly flights starting September 4, 2025. This route is new to the market.
– **New Orleans-Myrtle Beach:** Two weekly flights starting September 4, 2025. Another new route.
– **Northwest Arkansas-Pensacola:** Two weekly flights starting September 4, 2025. This route has never been served before.
– **Akron/Canton-West Palm Beach:** Two weekly flights starting September 5, 2025. Previously served by Breeze between 2022 and 2024.
– **New Orleans-Savannah:** Two weekly flights starting September 5, 2025. Previously served by Breeze from 2022 to 2023.
– **Memphis-Pensacola:** Two weekly flights starting September 5, 2025. Last served by Delta in 2012.
– **Richmond-West Palm Beach:** Two weekly flights starting September 5, 2025. This route was briefly served by Breeze in 2022.
The expansion into less trafficked routes positions Breeze to stimulate growth in these markets. For instance, the Northwest Arkansas to Pensacola route, covering 499 nautical miles, has historically seen minimal service, with only 119 weekly round-trip passengers recorded between April 2024 and May 2025.
Growth at Akron/Canton
Breeze has maintained a strong presence at Akron/Canton Airport since June 2021, where it has introduced a variety of nonstop routes. According to Cirium Diio data, the airport has hosted 16 nonstop routes since Breeze’s arrival, with 11 of those being new to the market. In September 2025, Breeze plans to operate 35 weekly departures from Akron/Canton, a significant increase from 17 weekly departures in the same month last year. It now ranks as Breeze’s ninth most-served airport.
The airline’s growth strategy appears to be effective; despite its expanding network, it accounts for only 31% of Akron/Canton’s overall September flights. However, when considering seat capacity, Breeze’s share of available seats rises to 43%, almost double that of its closest competitor, Allegiant, which holds 23% of the market.
Breeze Airways continues to carve out its niche in the competitive airline industry, focusing on underserved routes and leveraging its fleet to enhance travel options for passengers. As it prepares for future expansions, the airline’s approach may serve as a model for others seeking to penetrate similar markets.
