FaceTec Enhances Biometric Security with Version 10 Update

FaceTec has launched Version 10 of its face verification software, significantly enhancing its biometric security capabilities. The update to the 3D Liveness and Matching technology incorporates advanced protection against increasingly sophisticated spoofing attacks, particularly those driven by Generative AI.
The new platform introduces several features designed to bolster security. Customers will now benefit from tools such as facial age estimation, photo ID optical character recognition (OCR), and the ability to scan barcodes and NFC chips on biometric passports. Notably, Version 10 offers increased Level 5 protection against emerging spoofing techniques and certified Level 4 security to prevent tampering with face data.
Last week, FaceTec announced that it had successfully passed an assessment of its detection technology conducted by Praetorian Security, achieving a perfect score in stopping all spoofing attempts. This level of assurance reinforces the platform’s reliability in high-security environments.
Key Features and Performance Enhancements
According to FaceTec, the updated platform includes highly accurate 3D age estimation, unlimited photo ID scans with OCR, and support for over 2,100 officially recognized OCR templates. Moreover, it accommodates multiple forms of ID verification, introducing Universal 3D FaceVectors, which ensure privacy-preserving biometric data storage.
Performance improvements are significant, with an average 50% increase in speed for 3D FaceScans across more than 10,000 supported devices and cameras. The speed for Photo ID scanning has also been enhanced on all platforms. Additionally, server-side upgrades allow for faster server builds and data processing, further optimizing overall performance.
Long-term Research and Development
“Version 10 of the FaceTec biometric security software is the result of a decade of focused research and development informed by our experience from billions of real-world users in high-value environments,” stated Kevin Alan Tussy, CEO of FaceTec. This commitment to innovation illustrates the company’s dedication to maintaining its position as a leader in biometric presentation attack detection (PAD) technology.
All new features in Version 10 will be available free of charge to existing FaceTec customers and partners. The company is recognized as a pioneering developer in this field, as highlighted in a report from Goode Intelligence.
With the introduction of Version 10, FaceTec aims to solidify its reputation for delivering cutting-edge biometric solutions that address the evolving landscape of security threats. The continued enhancements reflect an ongoing commitment to protecting sensitive data and providing users with the highest level of security available.
