Experience Art on Two Wheels: Join Winnipeg’s Cool Gardens Ride

The Winnipeg Arts Council, in collaboration with Storefront Manitoba and Bike Winnipeg, invites the community to participate in the upcoming ArtRide. This event will explore the 2025 Cool Gardens installations alongside pieces from the City of Winnipeg Public Art Collection. The ride will cover a distance of 18.5 km and aims to highlight the influence of art and design on public spaces.
Participants will be supported by dedicated volunteers from Bike Winnipeg, who will provide safety marshals throughout the event. The ride is set to occur regardless of weather conditions, except in the case of thunderstorms, ensuring that art enthusiasts can engage with the city’s artistic landscape.
Those who wish to join will need to provide their own bicycles and helmets. For those in need of a bike rental, recommendations will be available upon request. Tour routes will not form a loop, but riders can look forward to a discussion at a patio in St. Boniface following the ride. Specific details regarding the location of this gathering will be shared closer to the event date.
It is advisable for participants to come prepared. Remember to pack plenty of water and sunscreen, as no facilities will be accessible during the ride. This initiative not only promotes physical activity but also fosters a deeper appreciation of the artistic elements that shape Winnipeg’s public spaces.
By engaging with the community in this unique way, the ArtRide seeks to celebrate the intersection of art, design, and urban life, making it an enriching experience for all involved.
