Drivers in the Peel Region of Ontario should prepare for significant traffic disruptions as 26 highway closures are scheduled for roadwork on September 16, 2025. The closures will affect several key routes, leading to potential delays for commuters and travelers alike.

The most notable closure will occur on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) Toronto-bound on-ramp at Cawthra Road in Mississauga. All lanes will be closed from September 17 at 10 p.m. until September 26 at 5 a.m.. This closure is part of ongoing efforts to improve the infrastructure in the area.

Another important route impacted is Highway 10, where one alternating lane will be closed northbound between Old School Road and Forks Of The Credit Road in Caledon. This lane closure is set to begin on September 13 at 6 p.m. and will remain in effect until September 27 at 3 p.m.

Additional closures include the following:

– One right lane on the QEW Fort Erie-bound between Cawthra Road and Highway 10/Hurontario in Mississauga will close from September 17 at 10 p.m. until September 26 at 5 a.m..
– On Highway 401 eastbound between Renforth Drive and Eglinton Avenue in Toronto, one right lane will be closed from September 16 at 9 a.m. until September 18 at 2 p.m..
– The westbound express on-ramp of Highway 403 at the South of Highway 401 in Mississauga will close completely from September 16 at 11 p.m. until September 22 at 5 a.m..

With additional restrictions on Highways 410 and 403, including multiple lane closures and ramp closures in Mississauga and Brampton, drivers are advised to seek alternative routes when possible.

Local authorities stress the importance of planning ahead to avoid delays. These closures are part of a broader strategy to enhance roadway safety and improve traffic flow across the region.

Motorists are encouraged to stay informed about traffic conditions and to drive cautiously in construction zones. For real-time updates on closures and traffic conditions, drivers can visit official provincial transportation websites.

As construction progresses, officials will continue to monitor and adjust schedules to minimize inconvenience for all road users in Peel.
