Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Receives Final Major Update to One UI 8.0

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series, which includes the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, has begun receiving its final major operating system update. The rollout of the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update has commenced in Europe, with a file size of approximately 3.17GB. Following this initial release, Samsung plans to distribute the update to other regions shortly.

As is customary with such updates, the deployment will occur in stages. This means that while the update is available in certain markets, it may take additional time for users in other areas to receive it. Samsung typically manages these rollouts efficiently, often completing global distribution within a few days.

This update marks the fourth and final major Android OS update for the Galaxy S22 series, aligning with Samsung’s initial commitment made upon the devices’ announcement. Although the company will introduce One UI 8.5 in the coming year, it will not include the next major Android version, Android 17, or its associated One UI 9.
