The DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center will host a community trunk-or-treat event for children on October 10, 2023. This free event invites local children to enjoy a safe and festive trick-or-treating experience, taking place from 14:00 to 16:30 at the facility located at 2600 N. Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb.

Children will have the opportunity to collect candy by walking past decorated vehicles, creating an engaging atmosphere for families. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes to enhance the festive spirit. To foster creativity, participants can also bring their own candy and decorate their car trunks. The event does have specific guidelines; decorations must remain family-friendly, avoiding any themes related to “gore” or “death.”

Parking for the trunk-or-treat event will open at 13:00, allowing families to arrive early and secure a spot. Registration is necessary for participation and must be completed by October 7. Interested individuals can register by calling 815-758-2477.

This event serves as an opportunity for the DeKalb community to come together in celebration while providing a safe environment for children to enjoy Halloween festivities.
