Drug Trafficking Investigation Leads to Charges for Four in Toronto

Police have arrested and charged four individuals in Toronto following a significant drug trafficking investigation. On March 6, 2024, officers executed a search warrant in the vicinity of Jane St. and Lawrence Ave. W., uncovering a variety of illegal items.

During the operation, authorities reported the discovery of three illegal handguns, including two loaded handguns equipped with over-capacity magazines. In addition to firearms, police seized a substantial quantity of narcotics, including cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, and cannabis, all allegedly intended for distribution. Authorities also found a significant amount of cash, scales, and 99 rounds of ammunition.

The individuals charged include Raphel Sinclair, aged 28, who faces 13 charges related to firearms and ammunition, along with seven drug trafficking charges, a count of possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, and one charge of failing to comply with an undertaking.

Two others, Raquel Phillips, 24, and Kwame Mitchell, 35, have been charged with 11 firearm-related charges, three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for trafficking, and one count of possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000. The fourth suspect, Devon Ramdeen, 47, faces four firearm and ammunition-related charges, along with six drug trafficking-related charges.

Additional Investigations Underway

In separate incidents, Toronto Police are seeking public assistance in two investigations. The first involves a vehicle theft that occurred on March 2, 2024. Around 09:00, a delivery driver parked his white cargo van in the area of Danforth and Jones Avenues. While he completed his delivery, a suspect stole the van and fled recklessly, prompting police involvement. The abandoned vehicle was later located, but the suspect remains unidentified. Authorities describe the suspect as being between 45 and 65 years old, last seen wearing a grey quarter-zip sweatshirt and blue jeans. Additionally, Toronto Police are investigating an arson incident that occurred on March 3, 2024, at approximately 03:26. Firefighters responded to reports of a blaze at a restaurant located in the vicinity of Pape and Danforth Avenues. The fire was extinguished without any reported injuries. The Fire Marshal’s Office concluded the fire was intentionally set.
