Air Canada Expands Bus Service from Waterloo Region to Toronto Pearson

Air Canada has announced a significant expansion of its bus service connecting the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) to Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ). Starting on December 1, 2023, the airline will double the number of daily bus trips from five to ten, providing travellers with enhanced options for reaching one of Canada’s busiest airports.
This new service will operate through The Landline Company, which is known for its luxury coach services. Passengers will benefit from increased frequency, offering more convenient connections to a wide range of international destinations such as Vancouver, Tokyo, Halifax, and San Francisco, among many others.
Ranbir Singh, Director of Regional Airlines and Markets at Air Canada, expressed satisfaction with the growing demand for the service. “We have been very satisfied with the response from the Kitchener-Waterloo Region to Air Canada’s innovative, multi-modal service,” Singh noted. He emphasized that the increase in bus trips aims to enhance connectivity for passengers traveling from the Waterloo region to various destinations serviced by Air Canada from Toronto Pearson.
The bus schedule departing from YKF will continue to provide early morning options, starting as early as 5:30 a.m., and extending service until 8:25 p.m.. For return journeys from YYZ to YKF, the bus departures will range from 7 a.m. to 10:15 p.m., allowing for greater flexibility in travel planning.
Region of Waterloo Chair Karen Redman highlighted the benefits of this expanded service, stating, “Doubling the frequency strengthens Waterloo Region’s global reach and opens new doors for our residents, businesses, and visitors alike.” Redman reiterated the commitment to providing more accessible travel options for the community, noting that the increased service is expected to encourage more passengers to utilize the local airport for their travel needs.
This expansion reflects Air Canada’s strategy to enhance its multi-modal services, ensuring that customers have seamless access to air travel options. The move is a clear response to growing demand and aims to position the Waterloo region as a key player in the broader travel landscape.
As the travel industry continues to recover, initiatives like this are crucial in fostering connectivity and offering residents convenient access to global destinations.
