Retro Wax Melter Offers Customizable Scents for Every Mood
A new wax melter concept, called MELTO, aims to revolutionize home fragrance by allowing users to blend scents according to their mood. Designed by Geonwoo Kang, this innovative device features three separate scent zones, enabling users to create a personalized aromatic experience tailored to their preferences or the time of day.
Customizable Aromatic Experience
Unlike traditional wax melters that limit users to a single scent until the wax is used up, MELTO encourages experimentation. It features divided trays and independent heating zones, allowing for one, two, or all three scents to be melted simultaneously. Users can start their day with refreshing citrus notes, switch to calming lavender in the evening, or mix fragrances for social gatherings.
The device is designed with a cylindrical body and a matte off-white finish, accented by bold orange details, giving it a retro yet modern look. This aesthetic allows it to blend seamlessly into various settings, whether on a nightstand, coffee table, or bathroom counter.
MELTO’s removable trays are arranged like a pie chart, each designated for a different wax scent. This layout invites users to explore endless combinations, making it easy to adapt to seasonal changes or personal moods.
Engaging Controls and Ambient Lighting
The retro analog interface is user-friendly, featuring a main dial that allows users to select Single, Dual, or Triple heating modes. This gives precise control over which scents are active. A dedicated button adjusts heat intensity, while an LED indicator displays the current temperature, preventing the risk of overheating delicate wax formulations.
Additionally, MELTO includes a built-in mood light, activated by a side slider. This feature allows users to adjust brightness levels easily, creating a warm, ambient glow in the room. The light and fragrance work together to enhance the atmosphere, making MELTO both a functional fragrance device and a cozy lighting solution.
The tactile experience of using physical dials and buttons adds an element of satisfaction to the scent customization process. Unlike app-controlled devices that can feel disconnected, MELTO’s design fosters immediate engagement through its analog controls, offering instant feedback and a hands-on approach to creating personalized environments.
Charging via USB-C on the back, MELTO eliminates the need for unsightly cords, making it easy to place anywhere without clutter. Its compact design fits comfortably in limited spaces, promoting versatility in various settings.
Themed wax sets, such as “Start Up” featuring energizing citrus and “Night Shift” with calming herbs, encourage users to explore different scent profiles and mood-based combinations.
MELTO combines retro charm, modular functionality, and engaging interaction, creating a unique experience for those who appreciate thoughtful design and personal expression through fragrance. As home fragrance becomes more customizable, MELTO offers a refreshing take on how we create and enjoy atmosphere in our daily lives.
