											A serious stabbing incident unfolded in Picton late on November 3, 2023, resulting in two young men facing multiple charges. The Prince Edward Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that the assault took place around 23:15 outside a convenience store located on Paul Street.
The victim, a 35-year-old male, sustained significant but non-life-threatening stab wounds. He was promptly transported to a regional trauma centre, where he continues to receive treatment. The specific nature of his injuries has not been disclosed, but authorities confirmed that he is in stable condition.
Investigation and Arrests
Following the incident, police launched an immediate investigation, during which they recovered several weapons believed to have been involved in the altercation. The swift response of the authorities was aided by the Tyendinaga Police Service, which helped with the apprehension of the suspects.
Shortly after the assault, officers arrested two individuals: Zachary Larrivee, aged 20, and Gavin Lafrance, aged 19, both residents of Embrun. Each suspect has been charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon, along with additional charges related to the stabbing.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the altercation, seeking to understand the events that led to this violent confrontation. The community remains on alert, as incidents of this nature raise concerns about safety in public spaces.
