Lethbridge County Engages Benchmark for Assessment Services
Lethbridge County has announced a significant shift in its property assessment approach by hiring an external provider, Benchmark Assessment Consultants Inc. This decision comes as the County’s longtime assessor prepares to retire later this year. The transition aims to ensure compliance with the Municipal Government Act and maintain high standards in assessment services.
Benchmark Assessment Consultants Inc. was selected following a competitive Request for Proposal process. The firm is recognized as the largest assessment company in southern Alberta and currently serves 48 municipalities across the province. Its extensive experience and resources are expected to enhance the assessment process in Lethbridge County.
On-Site Assessment Activities Underway
Staff from Benchmark have already commenced on-site assessment activities throughout Lethbridge County. These activities include property inspections for new developments and building permits, annual re-inspections, and follow-ups on assessment complaints. Property owners can expect to see Benchmark assessors in the field, who will be identifiable by their visible identification and vehicles marked with both the Benchmark and Lethbridge County logos.
The County encourages residents to reach out with any questions regarding assessments. Queries can be directed to [email protected] or by calling 403.381.0525. For further details on property assessments in Lethbridge County, residents can visit the official website at https://lethcounty.ca/p/assessment.
This strategic move reflects Lethbridge County’s commitment to adapting to changing circumstances while ensuring that property assessments are conducted efficiently and transparently. The partnership with Benchmark Assessment Consultants Inc. is anticipated to benefit residents by providing reliable assessment services moving forward.
