The Ashcroft HUB is set to host its annual Anonymous Art Show, inviting artists of all levels to showcase their creativity. Participants can submit their paintings for display at the HUB and online, with submissions due by 4 p.m. on February 25, 2026. This year’s event aims to engage the community and celebrate artistic expression.

Canvases for the show are available for purchase at the HUB for $5 each. Artists may submit an unlimited number of works, which will be displayed from March 2 to March 13. Each piece will be open to public bidding, with half of the proceeds benefiting the artist and the other half supporting the HUB. For inquiries, interested participants can email [email protected] or call (250) 453-9177.

In addition to the art show, the HUB is facilitating various community events aimed at fostering well-being and connection among residents. For example, Yoga with Sooyeon takes place every Tuesday and Friday at Clemes Hall, offering free sessions to all, regardless of experience level. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring their own mat and water.

The upcoming sessions run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the next class scheduled for January 23, 2026. This initiative is part of a broader effort, supported by a grant from New Horizons for Seniors, to promote wellness in the community.

Another program, “Get W.I.T.H. It,” provides an opportunity for indoor walking every Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Clinton Memorial Hall. This program allows participants to engage in physical activity while avoiding harsh winter weather. The next session will be held on January 26, 2026.

Additionally, the Cache Creek Recreation Society will host its monthly bingo night on January 26, 2026, at the Cache Creek Community Hall, with doors opening at 5 p.m. For those interested in culinary offerings, the community hall in 70 Mile is open for lunch on Tuesdays, serving homemade soup, biscuits, and coffee—available by donation.

The Ashcroft community is also gearing up for the sixth annual Guns and Hoses charity hockey match on January 31, 2026. This exciting event pits local firefighters against police officers at the Drylands Arena. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the game set to start at 6 p.m.. Admission is by donation, with proceeds going towards the Ashcroft Volunteer Firefighters’ Association to secure new safety equipment.

For gardening enthusiasts, the annual Seedy Saturday event returns on February 7, 2026, at the Cache Creek Community Hall. This event will feature seed swaps, vendors, and expert talks on gardening topics, all free of charge.

Local artist Kathleen Kinasewich will lead a mandala workshop at UniTea Café and Lounge on February 8, 2026. Participants can create their own mandalas using symmetry, with all materials provided for a fee of $45.

The Clinton Curling Club will also host a mixed bonspiel over the Valentine’s Day weekend from February 13 to 15, 2026. Teams are guaranteed three games, and registration costs $240 per team. Interested parties can register by emailing [email protected].

On the educational front, a two-day PAL (non-restricted) firearms course will take place at the Ashcroft HUB on February 21 and 22, 2026. Those interested should contact Ken Brown at (250) 453-9415 for more details.

The community of Ashcroft continues to thrive with a variety of events designed to promote creativity, fitness, and social connection. With so many opportunities available, residents are encouraged to participate and make the most of these offerings.
