Canada Strong Pass Offers Free Child Admission to Science North
Young visitors will enjoy free admission to two prominent science attractions in northern Ontario this holiday season, thanks to the new Canada Strong Pass initiative. From December 12, 2023 to January 15, 2024, Science North and its sister site, Dynamic Earth, will provide complimentary general admission for all individuals under 18. Additionally, visitors aged 18 to 24 will receive a 50 percent discount on their tickets.
The program aims to reduce financial barriers for families and young adults. “We’re proud to make science even more accessible for young people this holiday season,” stated Ashley Larose, CEO of Science North. She emphasized that the Canada Strong Pass allows families to explore Science North and Dynamic Earth together, fostering curiosity and creating lasting memories.
Details of the Initiative
Tickets under the Canada Strong Pass can be ordered either online or in person at the attractions’ box offices. The tickets include general admission to both sites and access to the underground tour at Dynamic Earth only. The initiative reflects the Government of Canada’s commitment to making educational experiences more available to the youth.
Ontario’s tourism minister also expressed support for the initiative as part of the province’s seasonal offerings. Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, remarked, “The holiday season is the perfect time to connect with family and friends while enjoying Ontario’s festive indoor and outdoor activities.” He highlighted the unique cultural treasures and tourism experiences available in Ontario, stating, “With free and discounted admission for youth and young adults at our world-class museums and attractions like Science North and Dynamic Earth, there’s no better opportunity to explore our unique province with your loved ones.”
Accessing the Canada Strong Pass
Officials advise that free and discounted tickets will be available for ordering both online and at the box offices of the attractions. Families interested in taking advantage of this initiative can find additional details about the Canada Strong Pass on the official Science North website at sciencenorth.ca/holiday.
This initiative not only enhances accessibility to educational attractions but also aims to inspire a new generation of scientists and innovators in Ontario. With the holiday season approaching, families now have an excellent opportunity to engage in science and exploration together.
