Coal City Schools Celebrate New Year with Fresh Initiatives

As the second semester begins, the district is poised for a period filled with significant academic milestones, including the upcoming graduation of seniors and the promotion of eighth graders to high school.

Upcoming Events and Achievements

The months ahead promise a vibrant array of events, including academic and athletic competitions, concerts, and family nights. Notably, the Coal City Theatre Department will present The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at 7 p.m. on January 17 and 2 p.m. on January 18. In a remarkable achievement for the district, three early childhood educators—Katie Aichele, Ashley Jackman, and Jen Muscato—have earned the prestigious National Board Certification through the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. Alexis Dearth and Jordan Olson were selected as cast members, while Sam Vota performed in the orchestra for the second consecutive year.
