Bill Gregory, aged 57, of Sault Ste. Marie, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, following a brave battle with cancer. His life, marked by love, energy, and an unwavering commitment to helping others, has left a lasting impact on his family and community.

Born on July 11, 1968, Bill was a devoted husband to Lisa Gregory, whom he referred to as his best friend and soulmate. Together, they raised two children, Brad Gregory and Briley Gregory, who he cherished deeply. As a grandfather, he took immense joy in his role, doting on his grandchildren, Braelee and Baizlynn, whom he lovingly called his “little peanuts.”

Family was central to Bill’s identity. He was the son of Carol Prentice (Keith) and the late Gerry Gregory. His sister, Jody Gregory (Betsy), and the late J.J. Gregory were also integral parts of his life. His love extended to his extended family, including aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, all of whom he held dear.

In 2019, Bill experienced a significant milestone when he connected with his biological father, Ghislain Beland, from France. This reunion brought him closer to his sisters, Deanna Major (Jay), Melanie Bryanton (Derrick), Joanne Beland, and brother Ghislain Jr. Beland (Tania), enriching his life with newfound relationships.

Bill’s professional life as a master in small engine mechanics was marked by his hands-on approach and eagerness to share his knowledge. His garage served not only as a workspace but also as a vibrant gathering place, filled with laughter, stories, and the unmistakable scent of gasoline. He took pride in his work with heavy equipment in various mines, creating lifelong friendships and cherished memories, particularly during his time at Siggfusson Northern.

Known for his exceptional character, Bill had a unique ability to recognize the good in every person and situation. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing valuable advice, or simply listening, his generosity touched countless lives. Above all, Bill was a family man, demonstrating love in every smile and sacrifice he made to foster a supportive home environment.
