A Canadian Lotto Max player has become a multimillionaire after winning a staggering $55 million in the latest draw held on January 9, 2026. According to a release from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), the winning ticket was sold in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell in Eastern Ontario. This win marks the first significant Lotto Max jackpot of the year, setting an exciting precedent for the months ahead.

Overall, 62 players will share the third prize, with each receiving $3,955.30. Notably, there were no winners for the Lotto Max Extra prize worth $500,000 in B.C., nor for the Ontario Encore prize valued at $1 million.

The next Lotto Max draw is scheduled for January 13, 2026, with the jackpot set at $14 million.

In a separate draw, a ticket sold in Edmonton, Alberta, matched the Lotto 6/49 White Ball-winning numbers 39221902-01 on January 10, 2026, resulting in another $1 million winner. Although no one won the Gold Ball prize worth $10 million or the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw prize of $5 million, five players will share the second prize, with each receiving $42,717.90.

Tickets for the Classic Draw were sold across Canada, including locations in B.C., Quebec, Atlantic Canada, Ontario, and Calgary, Alberta. The third prize will be distributed among 77 winners, each receiving $1,164.80. There were also no winners for the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw Extra prize in B.C. or the Encore prize in Ontario.
