Community Raises $25,000 for Lady Dunn Health Centre Care Beds
As the 2025 Giving Tuesday and Wish Campaign concludes, the community has collectively raised $25,000 towards the purchase of essential patient care beds for the Lady Dunn Health Centre. This fundraising effort, driven by local businesses and generous individuals, marks a significant step forward in enhancing patient comfort and care.
The newly acquired beds, each costing $15,000, are equipped with advanced features designed to improve patient safety and support hospital staff. More than just an upgrade, these beds represent an investment in the dignity and well-being of patients, ensuring that they receive the highest standard of care during their hospital stays. With this latest fundraising success, the LDHC Foundation is now $125,000 closer to its ambitious $150,000 goal.
Community Support Fuels Progress
The momentum for this initiative began in May 2025 with the Foundation’s annual 9 & Dine Golf Tournament. This event, along with the ongoing support from community members, has positioned the Foundation to make a substantial impact on local healthcare. Throughout 2025, the LDHC Foundation has delivered over $200,000 in support of vital capital equipment for the hospital.
Each item purchased through this funding plays a crucial role in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care. The commitment of local donors ensures that these resources are available for the community’s healthcare needs. The Foundation acknowledges that every donation, partnership, and effort contributes to strengthening hospital services, ultimately benefiting friends, families, and neighbours.
Plans for the Future
Looking ahead to 2026, the Foundation will maintain its focus on completing the funding for all ten patient care beds. Once the $150,000 target is achieved, the Board and staff will shift their attention to addressing other urgent capital needs within the Lady Dunn Health Centre. This proactive approach aims to ensure that the hospital continues to provide high-quality care, which the community relies on.
The success of the Giving Tuesday and Wish Campaign exemplifies the power of community collaboration. With continued support, the Foundation is optimistic about reaching its funding goals before spring. The collective efforts of local businesses and individuals demonstrate a commitment to enhancing healthcare services, ensuring that the Lady Dunn Health Centre can serve the community effectively for years to come.
