DeKalb County Opens Registration for 2026 Nonprofit Fundraising
Nonprofit organizations in DeKalb County can now register for the Give DeKalb County 2026 event, with registration open until April 1. This annual fundraising initiative, now entering its thirteenth year, aims to raise awareness and support for local nonprofits. Online giving is scheduled for May 7, running from midnight to midnight at GiveDeKalbCounty.org.
To qualify for participation in Give DeKalb County 2026, organizations must be 501(c)(3) registered nonprofits that either operate in or serve DeKalb County. Additionally, they must be legally registered with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and members of the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership (DCNP) by March 1. Detailed eligibility criteria and online registration are available on the official website.
Fundraising Impact and Community Support
Since its inception, Give DeKalb County has successfully raised over $12.8 million for local nonprofits. “As we launch Give DeKalb County 2026, now is the time for nonprofits to confirm their eligibility and sign up at GiveDeKalbCounty.org,” said Ben Bingle, Executive Director of the DCNP, in a recent news release.
In addition to the online giving on May 7, donors can contribute by check from April 23 to May 7, using a printable donation form also accessible on the website. Donations from Individual Retirement Accounts are permitted, adhering to mail-in guidelines provided online.
“Last year, thousands of donors contributed over $2.1 million during Give DeKalb County,” Bingle noted. “This incredible generosity strengthens local communities and demonstrates the far-reaching impact of donor support.”
Bonus Pool and Media Support
The DCNP also facilitates a Bonus Pool that enhances each donation made during the event, funded through contributions from various local supporters. This year, the Bonus Pool has been made possible by generous donors including Anne C. Kaplan, Meta, and the DeKalb County Community Foundation, among others.
Media sponsors play a crucial role in promoting the event, providing advertising and promotional support. Notable sponsors include local radio stations such as 94.9 WDKB, 98.9 WLBK, and businesses like Shaw Media and the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce.
For those interested in becoming a Community Partner or Media Sponsor, or for any inquiries, Ben Bingle can be reached at 815-748-5383 or via email at [email protected].
