The Lac La Biche Regional Health Foundation has presented a plaque to the Lac La Biche Elks Lodge #470 in recognition of their ongoing support for the foundation’s initiatives. The award ceremony took place at the Elks Hall in December, highlighting the Elks’ commitment to enhancing healthcare services in the region.

According to Yvonne Blanchette, a member of the Lac La Biche Regional Health Foundation, the Elks have been significant contributors since the foundation’s inception in 2015. The foundation focuses on hosting fundraising events throughout the year to support programs and acquire essential medical equipment for the William J. Cadzow Health Centre in Lac La Biche. Blanchette emphasized the importance of acknowledging organizations that align with the foundation’s mission, stating, “It’s great to show appreciation for an organization that supports our mission of improving healthcare in the Lac La Biche Region.”

The foundation continues to engage in various fundraising efforts aimed at enhancing healthcare resources. One of its key events is the annual Games Night, which is scheduled for April 17, 2026. This event features a variety of games and activities, a supper, prizes, and a live auction, all designed to raise funds for the foundation’s projects.

Representing the Elks during the plaque presentation, treasurer Danny Stevens expressed gratitude for the recognition. “It’s an honour . . . we really appreciate the recognition from any group,” he remarked. Stevens noted that the Elks Lodge has been actively contributing to numerous community organizations within Lac La Biche County for many years. “The Regional Health Foundation is one of our main benefactors over the years,” he added, underscoring the longstanding partnership between the two organizations.

The collaborative efforts between the Lac La Biche Elks Lodge and the Regional Health Foundation illustrate the vital role that local organizations play in supporting healthcare and community initiatives. As both groups continue their partnership, they remain dedicated to improving the well-being of residents in Lac La Biche and surrounding areas.
