Local author Gwen Lamont is set to present her memoir, The View From Coffin Ridge: A Childhood Exhumed, during an event in Owen Sound on January 22, 2024. The gathering will take place at The Rumpus Room, located at 237 9th St. E. Tickets for the event are priced at $50 and include a signed copy of the book, a bottle of “Into the Light White” wine, food, and a drink, according to a news release.
In her memoir, published by The Ginger Press in 2024, Lamont explores her challenging past, revealing stories of abuse, spousal violence, and a life-altering near-death experience. The book aims to empower readers by encouraging them to share their own stories while underscoring the significant role a caring adult can play in a child’s life. Lamont has presented her work at 23 events across Ontario, contributing to a growing conversation about intimate partner violence.
