Morris Elementary School District #54 Celebrates Honor Roll Achievements

Morris Elementary School District #54 has announced its second quarter honor roll list, recognizing the academic achievements of its sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students. The district maintains two distinct honor rolls: the High Honor Roll and the Regular Honor Roll, both designed to highlight outstanding student performance.

To qualify for the High Honor Roll, students must achieve a minimum grade point average of at least 3.75 and cannot have any grade lower than a “B,” with the exception of a “C” in accelerated classes. The Regular Honor Roll requires a minimum GPA of 3.5 and no grades below a “C.” It is important to note that grades in Physical Education, Art, Band, Choir, and Computer classes are not included in the GPA calculations for these honors.

Students designated as “Honor Graduates” must attain grades of B or above in English language arts, math, science, and social studies during the seventh grade, and maintain a cumulative GPA of B or above based on the first three quarters of eighth grade. The district emphasizes that GPAs will not be rounded up; for example, a GPA of 3.749 does not qualify for the High Honor Roll.
