Valente Development Corporation Raises Over $10,000 for Community Drives
Valente Development Corporation has made a significant impact this holiday season by contributing to local food banks and toy drives. The company recently completed its fourth annual “Valente Mission — Community in Action” holiday drive, raising over $10,000 for those in need.
According to Darcie Valente, a representative of the corporation, the initiative saw community members donate $4,750, which was then matched by her husband, Peter Valente. In addition to the monetary contributions, the corporation’s fleet of Gladiator trucks was filled with toys and non-perishable food items. Valente noted a last-minute donation from Devonshire Mall, which further enhanced the initiative’s reach.
“We were able to distribute $10,050 in FreshCo gift cards and Devonshire Mall gift cards to local food pantries and toy drives, along with all of the food and toys that were stuffed in our Gladiator trucks,” Valente explained.
The enthusiasm generated by the drive was evident, with Valente praising the involvement of trade suppliers and community partners. “It’s incredible to see everyone get involved, from our tenants to our staff; everyone is eager to help out our community,” she said. Over the past four years, the holiday drive has accumulated a remarkable total of $111,050 in funds and numerous truckloads of food and toys.
Donations were also collected at the corporation’s condominium communities located in LaSalle, Lakeshore, Tecumseh, and Kingsville. Valente remarked on the overwhelming generosity of the community, stating, “Sometimes we have to swap out bins two or three times; there’s just so much generosity.” This spirit of giving was further highlighted during visits to local pantries, where she observed other contributions from the community filling shelves.
The dedication to supporting those in need during the holiday season underscores the vital role of community involvement. Valente’s commitment to this cause showcases the positive impact of collective efforts, which can make a significant difference for families during this time of year.
