ATB Offers Free Webinar to Combat Fraud and Cybercrime
ATB Financial is hosting a free online workshop aimed at equipping participants with essential strategies to safeguard their wealth against the growing threats of fraud and cybercrime. The webinar, titled “Protecting Your Wealth from Fraud and Cybercrime,” takes place on February 26, 2026, at noon.
Led by Aisha Kitchlew, the senior manager of fraud and cybercrime at ATB Financial, the session will cover practical and impactful techniques designed to help individuals protect their financial accounts from fraudsters. Kitchlew emphasizes the importance of staying ahead of increasingly sophisticated cyber threats in today’s technology-driven financial landscape.
Fraud Prevention Month is observed across Alberta in March, and this webinar aligns with local efforts to raise awareness about scams and fraudulent activities. In 2025 alone, residents of Medicine Hat reported losses exceeding $4 million due to various fraud schemes.
Participants interested in attending the webinar can register through the Southeast Chamber of Commerce website. This initiative reflects ATB’s commitment to supporting community members in navigating the complexities of online security and financial safety.
As cybercrime continues to evolve, educational efforts like this webinar play a crucial role in protecting individuals’ financial assets and enhancing public awareness around the risks associated with digital transactions. With increasing reliance on technology for everyday financial activities, understanding how to mitigate these risks is more critical than ever.
