Apple Plans Bold New Colors for iPhone 18, Keeps Foldables Simple
Apple is set to introduce new color options for its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models, building on the success of its vibrant orange finish seen in the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. According to a report from Bloomberg’s technology journalist, Mark Gurman, the company is considering a striking “deep red” hue for the iPhone 18 Pro, which would mark a return to red finishes in its product lineup.
This proposed deep red is said to resemble a burgundy tone rather than a bright red, distinguishing it from previous PRODUCT(RED) editions. Apple has not released a red iPhone in some time, making this potential addition noteworthy. The orange finish of the iPhone 17 has reportedly gained significant popularity in China, suggesting that Apple may opt to retain both colors for the new model.
Although the report indicates that Apple is actively testing these new colors, it is essential for consumers to temper their expectations. The inclusion of these options has not been confirmed, meaning the final decision could vary as the launch date approaches.
What to Expect from the Foldable iPhone
When it comes to the anticipated foldable iPhone, consumers should prepare for a more subdued color palette. Gurman’s report suggests that Apple will focus on classic shades, such as dark gray, black, white, or light silver. This decision is likely influenced by the complexity of producing a foldable device, where components like the hinge and display require careful engineering.
By sticking to more conventional colors, Apple aims to simplify the manufacturing process for this innovative product. While exciting, vibrant colors may be a possibility for future iterations of the foldable iPhone, the initial release is expected to follow a more conservative approach.
As Apple continues to innovate in the smartphone market, the mix of bold and classic color choices will undoubtedly appeal to a diverse range of consumers. The decisions made regarding the iPhone 18 Pro and its foldable counterpart will set the tone for future releases and may further define Apple’s brand identity in the competitive mobile landscape.
