Battlefield 6 and REDSEC Extend Season 1, Unveil Season 2 Date
Battlefield Studios has officially announced an extension for Season 1 of both Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC, delaying the launch of Season 2 to February 17, 2024. The update, set to take effect on January 20, aims to provide the development team with more time to refine the upcoming season based on valuable community feedback.
As players await the arrival of Season 2, the extended Season 1 will introduce a variety of new content and challenges. Among the highlights are fresh weekly challenges and continued access to the existing Season 1 Battle Pass. A new feature, the Frostfire Bonus Path, will be launched on January 27. This Bonus Path offers both free and premium rewards, including various weapon and soldier customizations, experience boosts, and cosmetic items.
Players who have purchased the Season 1 Battle Pass will have access to premium rewards. However, free players will not miss out; they can still earn items such as a Hardware XP Boost, a Vehicle Skin, and player card customizations. The Frostfire Bonus Path operates concurrently with the current Season 1 Battle Pass, allowing players to progress through both without having to choose one over the other. Each tier of this new path requires 10 Bonus Path Points to unlock, with a total of 110 points needed to complete the entire path. Notably, progression through the Bonus Path will exclusively come from Weekly Challenges, as there will be no Bonus Challenges included this time.
Additionally, the update will introduce limited-time content themed around Valentine’s Day, offering Daily Login Rewards and several Double XP Weekends throughout the Season 1 extension. Players can also expect various gameplay updates and fixes, with comprehensive details available in the Game Updates section on the official Battlefield website.
The extension and new content aim to enhance player engagement and satisfaction, reflecting Battlefield Studios’ commitment to listening to its community. With the promise of new challenges and rewards, players have much to look forward to as they continue their journey in Battlefield 6 and REDSEC.
