Clicks Launches Communicator Phone and Innovative Power Keyboard
At CES 2026, Clicks unveiled its new smartphone, the Clicks Communicator, marking a significant return to the market for fans of physical keyboards. This compact device is designed for users seeking a minimalist communication tool rather than a typical smartphone experience filled with distractions. Alongside the Communicator, Clicks introduced the Power Keyboard, an accessory intended to enhance the usability of existing smartphones.
Introducing the Clicks Communicator
The Clicks Communicator is pitched as a secondary device, focusing on messaging and communication. It runs on Android 16, ensuring users have access to the latest software updates and security features. With a 4-inch OLED display, the device prioritizes typing over content consumption, appealing to those who prefer a tactile keyboard.
Key specifications include a full tactile QWERTY keyboard with a hidden fingerprint sensor in the spacebar, a 50MP main camera, and a 24MP front camera. The Communicator is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery and supports wireless charging. Notably, it retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD expansion capabilities for up to 2TB of additional storage.
One innovative feature is the customizable “Signal LED”, which alerts users to incoming messages without activating the screen, reminiscent of notification lights from earlier Android models. While Clicks emphasizes that the Communicator is for “communication, not consumption,” its support for full Android applications and NFC for mobile payments suggests it could serve as an ideal device for those looking to disconnect from incessant notifications while remaining connected.
The Clicks Communicator is currently available for reservation at a price of $399, which will increase to $499 on February 27, 2026.
Enhancing Experiences with the Power Keyboard
For users who wish to maintain their existing smartphones, Clicks introduced the Power Keyboard, a Bluetooth accessory that attaches to the back of devices via MagSafe or Qi2 magnets. This accessory transforms a smartphone into a setup reminiscent of the iconic T-Mobile Sidekick, complete with a full QWERTY layout, including a number row and directional keys.
The Power Keyboard also houses a 2,150 mAh battery capable of charging the smartphone while in use. Its Bluetooth connectivity extends compatibility beyond phones, allowing it to work with tablets, smart TVs, and even virtual reality headsets.
Pre-orders for the Power Keyboard are open at an early bird price of $80, with a standard retail price of $110. The product is expected to ship in the spring of 2026.
With these new releases, Clicks aims to cater to a niche market of users who value functionality and simplicity over the complexities of modern smartphones. As the demand for devices that prioritize communication continues to grow, the Clicks Communicator and its accompanying Power Keyboard may find a receptive audience among those nostalgic for the tactile experience of physical keyboards.
