ESR Launches Innovative 25W Qi2 Chargers to Combat Overheating
At the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026, ESR unveiled a range of new wireless charging accessories designed to address the overheating issues often associated with high-speed charging. Central to this launch is the introduction of the 25W Qi2 standard, which aims to provide wireless charging speeds comparable to traditional wired connections.
One of the standout products showcased is the ESR MagSlim Power Bank. This device boasts a capacity of 10,000 mAh while maintaining a slim profile of just 13.8 mm. This makes it one of the slimmest options available that supports the 25W standard. To manage the increased heat generated by faster charging, ESR has integrated active cooling technology, which is essential for maintaining device performance and battery health.
Innovative Cooling Solutions for Everyday Use
ESR’s CryoBoost technology, which aims to reduce heat during charging, was featured across multiple devices at CES 2026. Among these was the CryoBoost Foldable 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Station, designed for travelers. This compact station can charge a smartphone, smartwatch, and earbuds simultaneously while collapsing to a mere 15.8 mm when not in use. This design addresses the common issue of bulky charging stations that are difficult to transport.
For more permanent setups, ESR also introduced the CryoBoost 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Station, ideal for desks and nightstands. This model includes a detachable USB-C charger for watches and a dedicated “Sleep Mode,” which disables the internal cooling fan and indicator lights, allowing for a quiet and unobtrusive charging experience overnight.
Enhanced Features for Automotive Charging
Extending its innovative technology to automotive applications, ESR showcased the OmniLock Magnetic Car Charger, which incorporates the CryoBoost cooling system. Designed with an adjustable arm and a 360-degree rotating head, this charger keeps smartphones away from vehicle air vents, preventing additional heating from the car’s heating system. This is especially beneficial during GPS use and while utilizing the rapid 25W charging feature. The charger also includes reinforced clamps and shock-absorbing pads to ensure stability on uneven road surfaces.
While specific pricing and shipping dates for these new products have not yet been disclosed, ESR is expected to provide further information in the coming months. The introduction of these advanced charging solutions marks a significant step forward in addressing the challenges of wireless charging, making it more efficient and user-friendly.
