Samsung Expands One UI 8 Update to Galaxy A53, A33, XCover 7 Pro

Samsung has begun rolling out the One UI 8 update to several of its Galaxy devices, enhancing user experience with stability and performance improvements. This update, which is currently live in Korea, includes the Galaxy A53, Galaxy A33, and Galaxy XCover 7 Pro. The company continues to expand its reach, with expectations that the update will be available in additional regions in the coming weeks.
The One UI 8 update introduces firmware version GYI2 for the Galaxy A53 and GYI3 for the Galaxy A33. The XCover 7 Pro, the latest model in Samsung’s rugged series, is receiving firmware version BYI6. Users can expect the update to install automatically, but it can also be checked manually by navigating to System Settings, then Software Update, and selecting Download and Install.
Key Features of One UI 8
One UI 8 brings significant enhancements to Samsung’s core applications. Notable improvements include a refined interface for the Calendar and My Files apps. The DeX feature now utilizes Android 16’s Desktop Mode, providing a new user interface alongside enhanced functionalities.
The Galaxy AI’s Drawing Assist has expanded its offerings, introducing five new artistic styles: Insta Toon, Art Nouveau, Pop Art, Soft Illustration, and Webtoon. The Samsung Browser has also been updated, featuring a redesigned menu and tab bar to enhance user navigation and accessibility.
The Gallery app has received a polished menu redesign, which includes an Audio Eraser button to eliminate unwanted sounds from video playback. For users looking to keep personal memories secure, a new Private Album feature is now available. The ‘Now Bar’ has been added to provide real-time updates, including stock information, while the Weather app showcases new, fuller 3D animations. Additionally, the Reminder app now includes new categories for better organization.
As Samsung continues to push for innovation and improved user experiences, the One UI 8 update exemplifies the company’s commitment to enhancing its software ecosystem. The rollout marks an important step in ensuring that users across various models can take advantage of the latest features and improvements.
