Volvo Unveils 2027 EX60 with Impressive 640 km Range
Volvo has announced that its upcoming EX60 electric crossover will achieve an estimated range of 640 kilometres on a full charge. Scheduled for a full reveal on January 21, 2026, the EX60 aims to surpass the performance of its predecessors, the EX40 and EX90, which offer ranges of 418 to 476 km and 483 to 499 km, respectively, according to Natural Resources Canada.
The EX60 will feature a new 800-volt electrical system, enhancing charging efficiency. With a suitable 400 kW Level 3 fast charger, drivers can expect to gain approximately 270 km of range in just 10 minutes, bringing electric vehicle charging times closer to traditional refuelling experiences.
Key Specifications and Design Features
In addition to its impressive range, the EX60 incorporates lighter materials to reduce heat generation, thereby supporting faster charging times. Volvo’s in-house developed software will play a crucial role in optimizing energy transfer to the battery, further enhancing the vehicle’s performance.
The design of the EX60 remains consistent with Volvo’s modern aesthetic, echoing the styling cues seen in current models. A teaser image reveals its front fascia, featuring headlights reminiscent of the EX90. While the visual elements align with the brand’s Swedish design philosophy, the company also included playful touches, such as illustrations in the cargo area, hinting at a blend of functionality and whimsy.
Volvo continues to expand its electric vehicle lineup, and the EX60 represents a significant step forward in battery technology and performance. As the automotive industry shifts towards electrification, the EX60’s competitive range could attract a broader audience of environmentally conscious consumers.
The full reveal event will be live-streamed on Volvo’s website, allowing enthusiasts and potential buyers to experience the launch in real-time. For those interested in the latest automotive news, Volvo encourages following its social media channels for updates leading to the event.
As the EX60 prepares to hit the market, it joins a growing family of electric vehicles from Volvo, all aimed at meeting the demands of an evolving automotive landscape. The anticipation surrounding its launch underscores the importance of innovation in the electric vehicle sector and Volvo’s commitment to delivering sustainable, high-performance options for drivers worldwide.
