Family and Friends Remember Jane Elizabeth Valois, 1928-2026
Jane Elizabeth Valois, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, at the age of 97, surrounded by her family in her home. Her life, which spanned nearly a century, is remembered with profound gratitude and love by those she cherished most.
Born on October 16, 1928, Valois lived a life filled with rich experiences and deep connections. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Jack Valois, and her eldest son, Murray Valois. The family finds solace in the belief that they are now together again.
A Legacy of Love and Laughter
Valois leaves behind a legacy that includes her children: Janice (Gord), Jimmy (Brenda), Billy (Paula), Jacalyn, Jeffery (Rachel), and Julie (Mary). She also leaves a large family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom adored her immensely. To them, she was not just a mother or grandmother; she was the cornerstone of the family, offering love, guidance, and laughter.
Her home in Hawk Junction served as a sanctuary for her family, a place filled with warmth, stories, and the joy of togetherness. Many cherished memories were created within those walls, where Valois nurtured her family with unwavering love and support. She played a significant role in shaping their lives, instilling values of resilience and the importance of family bonds.
Celebrating a Cherished Life
Known for her sharp wit and unforgettable sense of humor, Valois embraced life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed travel, sharing a good cup of tea, and participating in bingo nights. Her presence could light up any gathering, making each occasion more memorable. Valois’ love was a constant source of comfort, and her lessons about family and connection will resonate through generations.
“We will grieve her for as long as we love her, which is forever. She will be missed beyond words and loved beyond time,” her family stated in a heartfelt tribute.
A Celebration of Life for Jane Elizabeth Valois will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the FJ Davey Home or March of Dimes, with donations to be made payable by cheque.
