Holiday Lights Contest Returns to Golden with Bright Success
The Holiday Lights Contest made a vibrant comeback in Golden this season, attracting significant community participation. Organized by Eddie Leigan of REMAX of Golden in collaboration with Golden Home Hardware, the contest featured 27 decorated homes and garnered nearly 400 votes during a week of online voting. This revitalization of the contest has been deemed a success, not only due to the participation numbers but also because of the creative spirit it brought to the town.
Celebrating Community Creativity
The contest revealed an impressive array of displays, showcasing the artistic flair of the local residents. The top three winners were announced as follows:
– **1st Place:** 1413 Spruce Drive
– **2nd Place:** 1500 Quartz Crescent
– **3rd Place:** 1217 12th Street
Participants brought innovative ideas to life, including captivating window light projections, tractors adorned with lights, and an extensive collection of inflatable decorations. According to organizers, many of these creative displays might not have been recognized without the contest, highlighting its role in fostering community engagement.
Organizers expressed their gratitude to all participants, particularly the households that dedicated time, effort, and resources to illuminate the neighborhoods. The positive feedback received has paved the way for the contest’s return in 2026, with a clear message for future participants: plan early, take advantage of post-holiday sales, and aim to surpass this year’s creative benchmarks.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As the contest wraps up, winners will receive gift cards from Home Hardware, likely to encourage further holiday decorations in the coming years.
